United States Republican presidential candidate John McCain on March 4th won four states in the party primaries, and reached the number of seats on behalf of the Republican presidential candidate to be nominated for the 1191 National People’s Congress, thus he won the victory in Republican nomination battle. McCain had scheduled to turn his attention to the presidential election in November. Some political analysts said the Republican Party elect only one possible candidate who could defeat the Democratic Party candidate and finally enter the White House.

The only main competitor of McCain, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee bowed to reality Tuesday and out of the Republican presidential race. Huckabee said in Texas, “It is very obvious that McCain has gained at least 1,191 representatives supported…… I would like to congratulate him.” At this stage there are only candidate Ron Paul did not withdraw from the competition. However, Associated Press pointed that that when Paul withdraws from the competition is only a matter of time; Republican presidential candidate result has been settled.

For McCain, the victory did not come easily. 71-year-old McCain participate in the election in the beginning, around Mid-2007, McCain’s campaign fund depleted, and two senior aides resigned, campaign work occurred a standstill. But McCain timely adjustment his strategy, established advantages, and won the ultimate victory.

For the presidential election in November, McCain will face enormous challenges. In United States, the tradition of the two parties take turns to be the president in the history seems to be against him. Over the past 50 years, one-party occupied the White House for two consecutive terms, the third to win again only appeared once. 1988, former President Ronald Reagan served two consecutive president left White House, then the same Republican George • W • Bush successfully succeed. However, Reagan had pretty high support rate in his term, so that make the possibility of successor in same party. But President Bush’s support rate continued to go down, and his outgoing period is in the economic downturn and the war in Iraq. This is very adverse for McCain.

In addition, McCain’s tough position in immigration, abortion and so on beget many people oppose. If McCain is elected president, when he enter the White House he will be 72 years old. Some analysts said that McCain for the Republican Party did not pave the road for McCain to the victory; he must develop his own road to the White House. McCain is the only Republican candidate to win the presidential election. If McCain won the presidential election, the premise must be that all the circumstances are entirely beneficial for McCain.

Regarding the public opinion poll, McCain’s support rate compared with Obama and Hillary all square. At the same time, the continued competition between Obama and Hillary, will help McCain to win valuable time.
