McCain and Obama, one is old, the other one is young; one is white, the other one is black. McCain relied on his experience over the years, Obama relied on portraying a bright political future for the United States. There is no doubt that McCain compared with Obama, the biggest advantage is that McCain’s power and trust. McCain told voters that the United States under his leadership will continue to maintain the status of superpower in the world. He will not hesitate to adopt tough measures to protect the security of the United States and the American people’s interests. In McCain’s point of view, Obama is only a weak politician without any experience. Although the Americans are still very concerned about security issues, but now the focus of voter’s attention is the economy. McCain had admitted that his lack of experience on economic policy, but voters still think that his handling of economic issues will be better than Obama, in dealing with economic issues that his supported rate is 42 percent, but Obama had only 34 percent.
The confrontation between McCain and Clinton will be entirely another situation. These two individuals are the veteran in Washington political arena, a multi-year working relationship, mutual understanding and mutual good personal relations. Clinton’s advantages are in the field of economic and social policy, but McCain’s advantage is that when the United States faced the terrorist attacks or this kind of crisis, he can be completely trusted. If the United States economy continues to decline, Hillary’s opportunities will increase, however, if there is more diplomatic conflicts, the probability of McCain to win the election will increase. Many voters have more confidence with McCain’s experience in counter-terrorism and dealing with the Iraq war.
Meanwhile, Hillary and Obama is struggle in the party, will gradually lose voters in the middle. At the same time, because their policies are almost the same, in the primaries they have to attack each other’s personality to highlight their own. However, This will undoubtedly provide a large number of object to attack for the Republican Party opponent. More and more intense exposing blemishes will scare off many undecided voters; the leading advantages of Democratic Party will gradually lose with the pass of time. In addition, the two-person competition will push the party tearing strongly to the polarization. As many voters said that if the candidates they supported did not win the primaries, they will change their votes to Republican candidate John McCain.
If the fighting continued until August national party congress, a few hundred super representatives to decide the winner will also lead to another mode of a controversy. Representatives from several hundred rejected the decision made by tens of millions of people, it is a mockery of democracy, these follow-up topics are bound to become the strongest weapons of McCain future to shake the Democratic Party.
McCain has begun to prepare for the Nov. election. He called on Bush and other party elders, invited former CEO of Hewlett-Packard as his fund-raising chairman, and elected his running mate for the next election preparation. McCain are faced with a dilemma to find a suitable running mate. On the one hand he needs one younger, more conservative, more understanding of the economic issues than him, in order to make up for their age, economic policies disadvantage. However, the consequences of doing so, it will be possible that the partner will hold different opinion with him in important issues. So it is not necessary that he have to seek balance in respect of age. Consideration should be given a choice to help him achieve victory, and can be competent to be the president once the advent of the crisis.
Expert analysis, the best choice for McCain is Colin Powell. Powell is the Bush administration’s senior officials, has also served as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and has very high prestige in the military. Although, 70-year-old Powell has no intention expressed to attend the election, but Republicans are likely to persuade Powell. They all agree that Powell is capable of fulfilling the duties of the President. At the same time, McCain’s other assistant candidates also includes 51-year-old Florida Gov. Charlie Crist and 47-year-old Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, as well as other state governors and officials. Mitt Romney dropped out the Republican Party primaries last month and switched his support to McCain, he was once a strong opponent, but now he is a good choice to be McCain’s running mate. But because of Romney’s policy have many differences with McCain and McCain’s has not expressed his opinion on Romney’s support. Furthermore, John McCain also needs to consider who will be his opponent in Democrat Party, and then to make a decision to choose who is his running mate.
McCain has announced that if the United States withdraw its troops from Iraq ahead of schedule, will lead to Iraq’s “chaos and genocide.” Also he declared that “the United States should garrison in Iraq more than 100 years. He said that voters should understand that the United States as a world superpower should have the power in the world. He plans to visit Britain, France and Israel next week, hope that the issue of national security will win more supporters for his Nov. election. McCain is tentatively scheduled to leave on his visit to Israel Jerusalem on the 18th, if he is elected, he will take the Middle East peace as the focus of diplomacy.
